Reactive Power Compensation

SYRP-C Low Voltage Electromechanical Reactive Power Compensation Cabinet

SYRP-C low-voltage electromechanical reactive power compensation cabinet is an economical capacitor bank for three-phase 50 Hz LV networks. It uses dedicated capacitor-switching contactors (CE-rated or equivalent) instead of thyristor-based switches, offering a lower first-cost solution suitable for applications where the switching frequency is moderate — typically fewer than ten operations per day.

Each power-factor correction step comprises a contactor, a fuse-switch-disconnector, and a capacitor cell (10–50 kvar) assembled on a common mounting chassis. The contactor is fitted with damping resistors to limit the capacitor inrush current to approximately 20× rated current, compared to 100×+ for a standard general-purpose contactor. This extends the service life of both the contactor main contacts and the capacitor dielectric.

The cabinet is controlled by an automatic power factor controller that energises and de-energises steps based on the measured cos φ, with a programmable target PF and step-time delay. An optional detuning reactor can be added to each step to protect the capacitors from harmonic currents.

Rated up to 480 V, 500 kvar total per cabinet. The SYRP-C is floor-standing with a steel enclosure, hinged front door with instrument window, forced-air cooling, and top cable entry via a gland plate.

Applications include factories with stable motor loads, commercial buildings with scheduled HVAC operation, water treatment plants with continuous pump duty, and agricultural processing facilities where daily load profiles are predictable.

Conforms to GB/T 15576, GB 7251.1, GB 7251.12, IEC 61439-1, and IEC 61439-2. The electromechanical switching design is proven over decades of installed base and is supported by readily available spare parts worldwide.

Product FAQ

Can SYRP-C Low Voltage Electromechanical Reactive Power Compensation Cabinet be quoted for an overseas project?

Yes. Submit the project SLD, voltage class, rated current, installation environment, destination country, and preferred component ecosystem so the engineering team can review the quotation scope.

Why does this source catalog page not show a public price?

Industrial electrical equipment is configured by project drawings, electrical parameters, component brands, testing requirements, packing, and delivery terms. The site uses RFQ instead of checkout or public pricing.

Are source images and source IDs preserved?

The source product ID, category, source URL, and image URL are preserved for traceability. Public claims remain limited to supplied source material and RFQ-ready product descriptions.

What information is required for an engineering quotation?

Provide five core inputs: voltage class, rated current, single-line diagram, installation environment, and destination standard. Component preferences, quantities, delivery terms, and testing requirements improve quotation accuracy.

How should buyers verify standards compliance before ordering?

Use IEC 61439 / GB/T 15576 family, verify by product and project scope as the initial standard family, then confirm the exact model scope, destination requirements, technical agreement, type-test evidence, and FAT plan with the engineering team before production.
