GCS/GCK/MNS low-voltage switchgear represents a versatile family of LV withdrawable and fixed-separated distribution equipment for three-phase 50–60 Hz networks up to 690 V. The series offers three structural variants — GCS (drawout), GCK (fixed-separated), and MNS (drawout, based on ABB MNS technology) — all sharing a common cabinet profile but offering different levels of modularity and maintenance convenience.
The drawout variants (GCS and MNS) allow individual plug-in units — containing a circuit breaker, contactor, and control module — to be withdrawn without disturbing adjacent circuits. This is especially valuable in continuous-process industries where a feeder fault must be isolated without shutting down the whole production line.
Rated up to 690 V / 4000 A busbar current with short-circuit withstand up to 65 kA for 1 s. Drawout unit sizes are standardised (8E, 16E, 24E) to accommodate different ratings while maintaining full door interlocking. The fixed-separated GCK variant uses bolted barrier partitions rather than withdrawable modules, offering a lower first-cost alternative for projects where unit-level interchangeability is not required.
Applications span refinery and petrochemical plant motor control centres (MCCs), cement plant LV switchboards, water and wastewater pumping stations, data-centre power distribution, and building-services switchboards for commercial towers and hospitals.
Conforms to GB 7251.1, GB 7251.12, IEC 61439-1, and IEC 61439-2. The MNS variant also references design aspects of ABB's MNS system for component compatibility. Each panel is factory-wired, tested, and prepared for export with full documentation.
